Plot[]
Based on true events, Dog Day Afternoon follows Sonny, a gay first-time crook who decides to steal money from the bank to get his boyfriend's gender changed. He forms a gang and robs a bank on a hot afternoon. However, he finds out there's not much to steal and is surrounded by policemen around the bank. Having few options under the circumstances, Sonny nervously bargins the captain of police, demanding safe escort to the airport and a plane out of the country in return for the bank employees safety.
