Robert Duvall is an American actor and director. He has won Academy Award, Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Awards and BAFTAs over the course of his career. He received the National Medal of Arts in 2005. He has starred in some of the most acclaimed and popular films of all time, including To Kill a Mockingbird (1962), Bullitt (1968), True Grit (1969), M.A.S.H. (1970), The Godfather (1972), The Godfather Part II (1974), Network (1976), Apocalypse Now (1979), The Great Santini (1980), Tender Mercies (1983), The Natural (1984), Days of Thunder (1990), Rambling Rose (1991), Geronimo: An American Legend (1993), The Paper (1994), Sling Blade (1996), The Apostle (1997), A Civil Action (1998), Crazy Heart (2009), and The Judge (2014). His television credits include "The Twilight Zone", "Outer Limits", "Naked City", "Route 66", "The Fugitive", "The Defenders", "Combat!", "the F.B.I.", and the emmy winning TV mini-series "Lonesome Dove". He began appearing in theater during the late 1950s, moving into television and film roles during the early 1960s.
