Plot[]
The film is the dramatised story of Thor Heyerdahl and his Kon-Tiki expedition of 1947. An experimental ethnographer and adventurer, Heyerdahl sets out to prove his theory that people from South America could have settled in Polynesia in pre-Columbian times. To do this he built a balsa raft using original techniques, and sailed across the Pacific from Peru to Polynesia with his five-person crew—a distance of 4,300 nautical miles.
