Jean Dujardin is a French actor and comedian. He is best known to an international audience for his starring role in Michel Hazanavicius's 2011 silent film The Artist, for which he won the Best Actor Academy Award and various other numerous awards and nominations. Dujardin began his acting career performing a one-man show he wrote in various bars and cabarets in Paris. From 1999 to 2003, Dujardin starred in the France television production of the original Canadian comedy series "Un Gars, Une Fille".
