The Red Violin (Le Violon Rouge) is a 1998 historical drama produced in an international joint venture between Canada, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The film follows a perfect red-colored violin through over three centuries as it passed from owner to owner in such locations as Italy, Vienna, Oxford, China, and Canada, eventually ending up at an auction where it may find yet another new owner.
